SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 at 3:00 pm.
**Tickets dated March 29, 2020 will be accepted for the September Concert.**
The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, has re-scheduled its Spring Concert for Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 3:00 pm at the First Congregational Church, 164 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, CT.
The program will feature “To Hope! A Celebration” by Dave Brubeck, an exciting work of grand proportion and a monumental affirmation of hope and exultation. Composed in 1979, it is powerful, multi-faceted, and displays his superb choral writing ability with profoundly moving passages, dance-like rhythms, deep emotion, and a strong sense of optimism.
Also on the program is “I’m Gonna Sing!” by André Thomas – a collection of spirituals from the master of spiritual writing! Dr. Thomas is a distinguished conductor, composer and arranger who is especially well known for his wonderful arrangements of traditional spirituals. Dr. Thomas has been appointed visiting professor of choral conducting at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and Yale School of Music for the 2020-2021 academic year and will lead the Yale Camerata.
The Chorale will be accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra and Joseph Jacovino on piano, and joined by Mezzo-soprano Wendy Gerbier and Tenor Marques Hollie.
Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any singing member or by calling 203-740-9533.
